NASGRO 3.0
NASGRO Fracture Analysis Software
is a suite of programs that can be used to analyze crack
growth, perform life assessments, compute stresses and stress
intensity factors, and process and store fatigue crack growth
properties. The package includes crack growth and fracture
data.
NASGRO was developed at Johnson Space
Center to perform fracture control analysis on NASA space
systems. Later, it was extended to use in damage tolerance
analysis of aircraft.
The software is comprised of the
following three modules:
- NASFLA - Structural Life Assessment
- NASBEM - 2-D Boundary Element Analysis
- NASMAT - da/dN and Fracture Database
Version 3.0 operates on Windows 95/98 and
NT and is available as a free download from NASA,
while Version 4.0 is commercially available from Southwest
Research Institute.
