The Effect of Cathodic Polarization on Fatigue Behavior

This paper was presented by Dr. Carl E. Jaske, P.E. in Marine Corrosion Symposium at CORROSION/2003, San Diego, CA. It summarizes a study of the corrosion-fatigue behavior of cathodically protected ASTM A 710, Grade A, Class 3 steel in seawater.

Gas Phase Embrittlement and Time Dependent Cracking of Nickel Based Superalloys
Time dependent intergranular cracking of superalloys at high temperature in air, under both sustained and cyclic loads, is dominated by environmental interactions at the crack tip. The mechanisms are discussed in terms of gas phase embrittlement by oxygen. The effect of chemistry and processing on time dependent cracking is discussed.
