This
is a proof-of-principle report that was supported
by the Materials Technology Institute (MTI Project
126-98) for nondestructive sensing of subsurface blisters
in FRP chemical vessels. Blister detection was done
with a novel scanable microwave device that is sensitive
to the effective dielectric properties to a depth
of 1.5 inches beneath the exterior surface of the
FRP tank.
