are ultrasonic transducers, the development of which is
focused on improving defect-sizing accuracy. Same-side sizing
of surface-breaking indications such as weld fusion line
defects (toe cracks) and environmental cracking (such as
SCC) defects have been addressed by the fusion-line detection
and sizing (FLDS) transducer, and the near-side detection
and sizing (NSDS) transducer, respectively. Eclipse Scientific
also offers the service to develop special application and
customized transducers upon request.
